The partners

There are seven partners in six Mediterranean countries :

Association for Participation and Regional Action (APARE, France) – Lead partner for the REMEE Project

The Association for Participation and Regional Action, APARE, is a European organisation for young people which is recognised by the European Commission. It was founded in 1979 and has worked ceaselessly over the last 30 years for youth, heritage and the environment. APARE offers volunteer activities in Provence and the Mediterranean which aim to communicate the values of these territories through action and the involvement of local people. Each Summer, APARE coordinates more than 300 volunteers on its heritage restoration workcamps in Provence and the Mediterranean. It is also involved in transmediterranean cooperation and exchange programmes.

APARE is the lead partner of REMEE and as such, is responsible for overall project coordination as well as the implementation of the “Young People: Players in Mediterranean Water Heritage” programme in the Departement of Vaucluse where it will work with three primary school classes and two classes at an agricultural college.

Office of the Environment, Corsica (OEC, Corsica, France)

The Office for the Environment of Corsica is responsible for the stimulation and coordination of regional policies concerning Environmental and Sustainable development. OEC elaborates methodologies in the framework of local, national and international partnerships. In REMEE project OEC participates to work towards a common inventory and valorisation methods for water heritage. They also responsible for setting up educational program and for increasing general public awareness.

Mediterranean Centre for Environnement (MKP – Greece)

The Mediterranean Centre of Environment (Μεσογειακό Κέντρο Περιβάλλοντος - MKP) is a civil non-profit organisation created in 1992 to promote development of human activities with respect for the culture and environment and of Mediterranean and Balkan territories. The MKP strives to promote Euro-Mediterranean dialog by increasing youth awareness of cultural of and natural heritage and sustainable development.

In the framework of REMEE project, the MKP develops educational program “Young people stakeholders in Water Heritage” on two of the Cyclades islands and participates to the inventory of water heritage in this area.
